Description

The British School of Gran Canaria is an independent, non-denominational, non-profit school providing British style education from nursery to university entrance.

Founded in 1966 the school has grown to include sectors located on two sites, housed within extensive and newly constructed facilities. The school follows the UK National Curriculum, with minor adjustments for recognition and compliance with Spanish educational requirements, with the medium for teaching and learning being First Language English. The school is regularly inspected to ensure it meets UK educational standards and requirements and consistently works for school improvement through its School Development Plan. Academic standards are high, enabling our students to access and excel in the best universities in the world, predominantly in the UK and Spain.  The school also emphasises the development of responsible, resilient and caring world citizens alongside the drive for academic excellence.

The pleasant school campuses, combined with high quality teaching, provide a warm, happy and caring atmosphere in which the students can grow, flourish and excel. The ethos of the school, and the number of students on roll, ensure that personal care and support are the norm. In such an environment, pupils are empowered to become successful, enthusiastic, and skilled and committed lifelong learners, where academic success goes hand-in-hand with personal and social development.
