SEK-Alborán in Almería, founded in 1999, is a private, bilingual Spanish-English school located in the Almerimar residential estate in the town of El Ejido.
The only school in the province authorised to teach three International Baccalaureate Organisation® Programmes alongside the national curriculum. The school grounds span 28,000 m2 including buildings housing each educational stage, an indoor sports hall, athletics tracks, indoor football, basketball, science labs, library, heated pool, dining hall with its own kitchen, school transport service, nursing services, Kindergarten and morning classroom.
In line with our commitment to international education, we have exchange programmes with IB World schools located in France, Italy, Germany, England and the United States. The school’s students also take part in Model United Nations (MUN) in Madrid, Rome, Oxford, Hamburg and Baden-Baden; the Comenius Projects; and a School Solidarity Project that collaborates internationally – Siyakula School in South Africa and ACOES Schools in Honduras; in Spain with associations such as the Spanish Food Bank and Red Cross and locally with educational initiatives for associations such as ARGAR Children with Cancer, AXDIAL Children with dyslexia, ECOEMBES or Koopera Almería.
