SEK International School El Castillo, founded in 1972, is a private, Spanish/English bilingual school located in the Northwest area of the Madrid Region, in the Villafranca del Castillo residential estate, just 20 minutes from the city centre.

Pioneers in Spain in offering the three International Baccalaureate Organisation programmes, the Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP) and the Diploma Programme (DP) alongside the Spanish national curriculum since 1977.

Currently, our school is accredited by NEASC and ECIS, making SEK-El Castillo a leading standard for international learning based on ACE Principles. The NEASC accreditation means we are able to offer our students the American High School Diploma and/or a double Diploma.
Our school boasts a high-performance arts centre, we are particularly proud of the Music School (choir and instrument ensemble), that prepares students to sit the Royal School of Music and Trinity College exams and performs at international festivals.
We also offer our 14 to 18-year-old students the prestigious Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award, an all-round personal development scheme focused on the development and training of skills such as leadership, audacity, autonomy, capacity for resolution and teamwork.
We also maintain a relationship with Real Madrid and other sporting bodies and federations, leading to the creation of the SEK International Sports Academy, a one-of-a-kind and innovative programme in Spain, tailored to helping elite athletes realise their full potential.
We are also part of the World Academy of Sport, offering competitive academic programmes for high-performing student athletes in secondary and baccalaureate.
