Educational Model at Colegio Suizo de Madrid

We recognize and nurture each student’s individual interests, encouraging them to explore their strengths, curiosities, and talents. Through a personalized and student-centered approach, learners are supported in developing their potential while gaining the confidence to pursue their own academic and personal paths within an international learning environment.

Upon entering to the school, families may choose between two bilingual tracks: German/Spanish or English/Spanish. Our demanding bilingual educational concept motivates students to continuously expand their academic knowledge while at the same time developing their personal skills. For us, social and emotional progress is just as important as the cognitive aspects of learning. At college level we will offer students the opportunity to graduate with the International Baccalaureate Diploma (IB Diploma). *

At SIS schools, language is acquired through the immersion method, which invites children to fully immerse themselves in the new language. Students use the second language to interact with the world in a playful and completely natural way. The local language and English or German are given equal importance, both in the classroom and in all aspects of daily school life.

As a result, children learn to express themselves naturally and confidently in both languages. Through bilingual education, SIS aims for its students to think and act as global citizens, thus becoming autonomous and reflective learners.

Two bilingual tracks:
Families will be able to choose either the English/Spanish or German/Spanish track.

From Year 3 onwards, a third language is introduced as a foreign language. Depending on the chosen track, students learn, English or German in addition to Spanish. This opportunity further broadens their linguistic repertoire and strengthens their confidence in using multiple languages. Students also have the opportunity to prepare for language certificates in English and German.
