IDEO School
Our educational project aims to train happy, healthy, aware, supportive and builders of a better world from comprehensive training. We defend a useful and lasting knowledge, for life, that contributes to turning our students into active citizens and committed to social reality. We build a model that restores pupils’ autonomy and enables them to grow as critical, flexible, and creative individuals. Experiencing IDEO’s educational approach will not only change a child’s life — it will also transform the life of their entire family. Because we understand that in education the whole school community participates actively: teachers, parents, and all school staff — everyone teaches and everyone learns. We have a Guidance Department made up of 10 professionals from different specialisations who look after the wellbeing of the entire school community and support all pupils in the classroom. At Escuela IDEO we understand education as a journey of discovery, growth and transformation. We accompany our students from the first year of life to the Baccalaureate -with all its itineraries and the Diploma Program (DP) of the International Baccalaureate-, in addition to the TEGU and TSEAS Training Cycles. The DP offers a response to students who want to go a step beyond the traditional educational model and seek a professional projection through their academic and personal development.
Our humanistic, inclusive and active educational model places each student as the protagonist of his or her own learning. We promote equity, attention to diversity and integral development in all dimensions: cognitive, emotional, social, ethical and physical. We understand learning as transforming experience into knowledge through emotion, action and reflection.
We work by projects and integrated learning situations, around real challenges that culminate in final products with meaning for the community. Teachers act as guides and are part of interdisciplinary teams in continuous improvement.
Our commitment is reflected in recognitions such as the NAOS Strategy Award for the promotion of physical activity, the UNICEF Reference Center for Children’s Rights (Level 2) and the Healthy Life Seal of the Ministry of Education. Escuela IDEO School has been awarded the “Healthy Life Certification” quality mark by the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training. This distinction reinforces the promotion of health education within the school environment, as well as the adoption of healthy lifestyle habits and a physical education model that supports pupils’ personal and social development throughout their schooling. Escuela IDEO has received certification for its Prevention and Intervention Model in cases of Harassment in Educational Settings. It is a recognition of the educational work and the quality of the actions to improve coexistence and prevent bullying within our school.
Extracurricular activities at Escuela IDEO expand and enrich classroom learning through a pedagogical-playful methodology consistent with our educational project. They constitute a space for training and enjoyment where students develop physical, artistic, technological and social skills. The offer includes sports (skating, taekwondo, judo, basketball, indoor soccer, volleyball, cycling), artistic (music, cinema, dance, theater in English), scientific and technological (science workshop, robotics, mathematical enrichment), as well as wellness activities (mindfulness, yoga) and cultural (languages, role-playing games, mountain group). All of them promote integral growth, coexistence and active learning through play and experience.
